Company Details : Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital - a specialty hospital serving patients with complex conditions - is setting out to change the rehabilitation statistic of our region.
· Under the supervision and guidance of therapists, engages or assists with patients where appropriate.
· Supports the therapy staff by running errands where appropriate, which includes purchasing of stationary and small items needed for the department.
· Responsible for assisting with stocks and inventory (splinting supplies, consumables, etc.) and report stock requirements to the Team Leads.
· Assists therapists on external trips if and when required.
· Participates in patient related social activities under the direction of therapy.
· Assist in the preparation of rehabilitation space for patient-related activities such as group activities
· Transports clients to and from rehabilitation treatment areas utilizing mechanical aids such as wheelchairs and stretchers.
· Assist with manual handling of patients for the purposes of transporting to and from the Rehabilitation gyms.
· Provide assistance to therapists using the Hydrotherapy Pool, as appropriate and in the event of an emergency.
· Maintain a clean, safe environment, ensuring adherence to standards, policy and procedure of Prevention and Control of Infection (PCI).
· Maintain client dignity, wellbeing and confidentiality at all times in adherence to the SRH policies and procedures.
· Comply with departmental policies, procedures and standards.
· Assisting with the set-up of therapy sessions as directed by the therapist. This will include arranging times, cancellations as well as the necessary equipment
· Assisting with conducting groups – set up and planning should be done in conjunction with the therapist who will direct the therapy aides responsibilities
· Administrative tasks-scanning and filling evaluations of therapists as well as keeping a database of due dates for upcoming re-evaluations
· Therapy records and reports for all the updates – to be responsible for ensuring that the therapy record folder is up to date with all evaluations.
· Other administrative duties as requested by therapists. This may include photocopying, scanning and report typing
· Assist with planning and organizing could be related or other events example open days training sessions et cetera
· Ensure the therapy areas are kept neat and orderly take charge for ensuring that areas are cleaned and the checklists completed by the cleaning staff
· Responsible for assisting with chart review as and when requested under the supervision of the senior person conducting the audit.
